Description

Audi BCM 2 (2007-2013)

Audi BCM 2 supports the following Audi models:

– A4 (B8) Typ 8K 2008+
– A5 2007+
– S5 (B8) 2009+
– RS5 2010+
– RS4 2010-2012
– RS6
– Q5 2007+
– A6 (C7) Typ 4K 2010+
– A7 Sportback 2010+
– A8 (D4) Typ 4H 2010+
– VW Touareg Typ 7P5 2010+
– R8 up to 2011.

The Audi BCM 2 key-learning device works with vehicles equipped with BCM 2 module. The supported BCM 2 modules are: xx0907064xx, 8K0907289C.

The key-learning device has a key programmer, that allows pre-coding of the blank keys.

The device allows you to:

*Program 1 to 8 keys to the car.

*Check whether the key is blank.

*Switch the alarm OFF, as when all keys are lost, the alarm will be working.

*Switch the alarm ON, if it previously was turned OFF.

Our device needs 25 seconds to learn a key.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Key-learning procedure with Audi BCM 2

You can specify how many keys are going to be learned with the help of the switches. In the table below you can see the exact switch combinations:

SW1 SW2 SW3
1 key OFF OFF OFF
2 keys OFF OFF ON
3 keys OFF ON OFF
4 keys OFF ON ON
5 keys ON OFF OFF
6 keys ON OFF ON
7 keys ON ON OFF
8 keys ON ON ON

Follow these steps to perform the procedure:

1. Specify how many keys are going to be learned.

2. Give ignition ON with a working key. If there isn’t any working key, turn on the radio, and switch the lights ON. If you skip this step there won’t be any communication with the car and the procedure will fail.

3. Put the device into the OBDII. It starts communicating with the car and the LED is blinking.

4. If all keys are lost, in 5-6 seconds the LED will be constantly RED. Then you should go to the trunk, find the BCM module and disconnect both 17-PIN connectors (black and brown). After 2-3 seconds reconnect them again. If you have a working key, skip this step.

5. In 15-20 seconds the LED will be constantly GREEN. Then you will see that the learning procedure is active on the dashboard. If you have specified e.g. 3 keys to learn, you will see “0/3” on the display.

Now you have to give ignition ON with each key you want to learn. In case the car is key-less-go, place the key near the vehicle coil instead of inserting it into the ignition lock. As you give ignition with each key, the indication on the dashboard will change to “1/3”, 2/3” and so on until the end value (“3/3” in this case). When you reach the end value, the procedure will finish successfully.

Blank key

If you want to learn a blank key, you have to put it in the ring coil before giving ignition ON with it. The LED will start to blink GREEN indicating that a key is detected and is being currently pre-coded. As soon as the key is pre-coded successfully, the LED will be constantly GREEN again, and you can give ignition ON with this key and then learn it.

In that way you can pre-code as many keys as you want.

If you cannot pre-code the key by any reason (e.g. because the key is not blank, or if you remove it from the coil before the pre-coding has finished) the LED will become RED for three seconds, and then again constantly GREEN, awaiting to pre-code the next blank key.

NOTE:

Sometimes we recommend turning the lights cyclically ON and OFF for 2-3 seconds when the LED is blinking. In case the procedure fails, start it again switching the lights ON and OFF during the procedure.

Checking whether the key is blank

Make the SW6 to position ON and put the device into any OBDII socket (you can execute this procedure on other vehicles too). The LED must be constantly GREEN. Then put in the key that you want to check. When the key is inserted, the LED starts to blink in GREEN while the device is checking the key. When the check has finished, the indications are as follows:

– Success indication – the key is blank (LED blinks GREEN slowly).

– Error indication – the key is not blank (LED blinks RED fast).

Turning the alarm OFF

This feature is necessary only when all keys are lost. After unlocking the door the alarm will be triggered in 15 seconds.

Turn the SW8 to ON, all other switches must be OFF. Switch on the radio and the lights, and then put the device into the OBDII. In 4-5 seconds the device will indicate success (LED blinks GREEN slowly), and this also means that the alarm is already OFF. Now you can unlock the door once again. In this way you will unlock all doors and receive access to the trunk where the BCM 2 module is located – this is necessary for the key-learning procedure .

Turning the alarm ON

This feature is necessary only when all keys are lost and you have disabled the alarm.

As soon as you have finished with the key-learning procedure you should also restore the alarm. Make the SW7 to ON, all other switches must be OFF. Turn on the radio and the lights, and then put the device into the OBDII. In 4-5 seconds the device will indicate success (LED blinks GREEN slowly), so the alarm is already ON.

Indications

The device shows the following indications:

– Success: the LED is blinking slowly in GREEN, when the procedure is successful.

– Error: the LED is blinking in RED fast in case of an error.

Supported BCM2 modules:

Supported BCM2 modules are xx0907064xx, 8K0907289C.

Examples:

All keys are lost and you want to make 1 key

1. Switch the alarm OFF

– Make the SW8 to ON, all other to OFF.

– Unlock the driver’s door.

– Put the device into the OBDII and wait for the success indication.

– Unlock the driver’s door again to unlock all the doors and the trunk.

2. Learn 1 key

– Eject the device from the OBDII, turn all switches OFF (this actually specifies that 1 key will be learned).

– Switch on the radio and the lights.

– Insert the device into the OBDII again.

– Wait until the LED is constantly RED, then disconnect both 17-PIN connectors from the BCM2 and in 2-3 seconds reconnect them again.

– Then wait until the LED is constantly GREEN, the dashboard will show “0/1”. After that insert the blank key into the device ring coil.

– The LED starts to blink GREEN. You have to wait until it is constantly GREEN again.

– Give ignition ON with this key. If the car is key-less-go, put the key near the vehicle coil.

– The dashboard indication must change from “0/1” to “1/1”.

– Now you can start the car.

3. Turn the alarm ON

– Remove the device from the OBDII, turn the SW7 to ON, all other switches to OFF.

– Insert the device into the OBDII and wait for the success indication.

The car has 1 key and you want to add 1 key

Learn 2 keys

– Switch the SW3 to ON, all other to OFF (this actually specifies that 2 keys will be learned).

– Make the ignition ON with the working key.

– Insert the device into the OBDII.

– Then wait until the LED is constantly GREEN, the dashboard will indicate “0/2”.

– If the working key is in the ignition, the dashboard will change to “1/2”. If the key is key-less-go, put the working key near the vehicle coil, and then the dashboard will change to “1/2”.

– Insert the blank key into the device’s ring coil.

– The LED starts to blink in GREEN. You should wait until it is constantly GREEN again.

– Give ignition ON with this key. If the car is key-less-go, put the key near the vehicle coil.

– The dashboard indication must show “2/2”.

– Now you can start the car.
