INSTRUCTIONS:

1 BCM2 Key learning device.

The BCM2 key-learning device is dedicated to program keys for the vehicles equipped with the BCM2 module. These are the models Audi A4/A5/S5/Q5 2007+, Audi A6 2010+, Audi A8 2010+, Audi A7 2010+, VW Touareg 2010+.

The key-learning device is equipped with a key programmer, which allows to pre-code the blank keys.

The device has following modes of operation:

– program 1 to 8 keys to the car.

– Check whether key is blank

– Switch the alarm OFF because in all keys lost situation the alarm will be working

– Switch alarm ON if previously was turned OFF due to a all keys lost situation

2 Key learning procedure

You should specify the number of keys you want to learn using the SW1, SW2, SW3, In the table below you can find how the number of keys is specified:

  SW1 SW2 SW3
1 key OFF OFF OFF
2 key OFF OFF ON
3 key OFF ON OFF
4 key OFF ON ON
5 key ON OFF OFF
6 key ON OFF ON
7 key ON ON OFF
8 key ON ON ON

The procedure is performed in following steps:

1. Specify the number of keys which will be learned

2. Give ignition ON with a working key. If all keys are lost, turn on the radio, and switch the lights ON. If you don't have a working key and you don't turn the lights and the radio, there. Will be no communication with the car and the procedure will fail.

3. Put the device into the OBDII, it starts to communicate, and the LED is blinking

4. In all keys lost situation after 5-6 seconds the LED will be constantly RED. In this situation you should go to the trunk, find BCM module and disconnect both 17-PIN connectors (black and brown). After 2-3 seconds reconnect these connectors again. If you made ignition ON with a working key, this step is skipped

5. After 15-20 seconds the LED will be constantly GREEN and you will see on the dashboard information that the learning procedure is active. If you specified to learn e.g. 3 keys  , you will see on the display “0/3”. At this moment you should give ignition ON with each you want to learn. If car is key-less-go, place the key near the vehicle coil instead of inserting the key into the ignition lock. After giving ignition with each next key the indication on dashboard will change “1/3”, 2/3” and so on until the end value (“3/3” in this case). When the end value is reached the procedure will be finished indicating success. If you want to learn a blank key, before giving ignition ON with it, you should put it in the ring coil. The LED will start to blink GREEN indicating that a key is detected and is currently pre-coded. After the key is pre-coded successfully, the LED will be constantly GREEN again, and you can give ignition ON with this key to learn it. At this moment you can pre-code in that way as many keys as you want using this procedure. If the key cannot be pre-coded by any reason (e.g. because key is not blank, or if you remove it from the coil before pre-coding is finished) the LED will become RED for three seconds, and after that again constantly GREEN awaiting to pre-code next blank key .

NOTE: In some cases , it is recommended to make lights cyclically ON/OFF each 2-3 seconds when the LED is blinking. So if the procedure fails, repeat it making the lights ON/OFF during the procedure.

3 Check whether key is blank

Make SW6 to ON position and put the device in any OBDII socked (procedure can be executed also on other vehicle). LED should be constantly GREEN. Put a key that you want to check whether is blank. After a key is put the LED starts to blink GREEN while checking the key. After the check is finished the indication is following:

– Success indication - key is blank (LED blinks GREEN slowly)

– Error indication – key is not blank (LED blinks RED fast)

4 Switch alarm OFF

This mode of operation is necessary only when all keys are lost. After unlocking the door the alarm will be triggered in 15 seconds. Make SW8 to ON, all other to OFF. Turn on the radio, and switch the lights ON, then put the device into the OBDII. After 4-5 seconds the device will indicate success (LED blinks GREEN slowly) which means that the alarm is already OFF. At this moment you can unlock the door once again, which will unlock all doors and give you access to the trunk where the BCM2 module is located – this will be needed for the key-learning procedure .

5 Switch alarm ON

This mode of operation is necessary only when all keys are lost and you disabled the alarm. After finished with the key-learning procedure you should restore the alarm. Make SW7 to ON, all other to OFF. Turn on the radio, and switch the lights ON, then put the device into the OBDII. After 4-5 seconds the device will indicate success (LED blinks GREEN slowly) which means that the alarm is already ON.

6 Indications

Following indications shows the final result of the device:

– Success indication: After finished with success the LED is blinking slowly GREEN

– Error indication: In case of some error the LED is blinking RED fast

7 Supported BCM2 modules:

Supported BCM2 modules are xx0907064xx, 8K0907289C

8 Examples:

- All keys are lost and you want to make 1 key

1. Switch alarm OFF using procedure described in 4)

- Make SW8 to ON, all other to OFF

- Unlock driver door

- Put device into the OBDII and wait for the success indication

- Unlock the driver door again to unlock all doors and trunk

2. Learn 1 key

- Eject the device from the OBDII, make all switches to OFF ( this actually specifies 1 key will be learned )

- Turn on the radio and switch on the lights

- Put the device into the OBDII again

- wait until the LED is constantly RED, then disconnect both 17-PIN connectors from BCM2 and after 2-3 seconds reconnect them again

- wait until the LED is constantly GREEN, dashboard will show “0/1” and put the blank key in the device ring coil.

- LED starts to blink GREEN, wait until it is again constantly GREEN

- Give ignition ON with this key. If car is key-less-go, place the key near the vehicle coil

- Dashboard indication should change from “0/1” to “1/1”

- Now the car can be started

3. Switch alarm ON

- Eject the device from the OBDII, make SW7 to ON, all other switches to OFF

- Put device into the OBDII and wait for the success indication

- Car has 1 key and you want to add 1 key

Learn 2 keys

- Make SW3 to ON, all other to OFF (this actually specifies 2 keys will be learned)

- Make ignition ON with the working key

- Put the device into the OBDII

- wait until the LED is constantly GREEN, dashboard will indicate “0/2”

- If the working key is in the ignition, dashboard will change to “1/2”. If key is key-less-go, place the working key near the vehicle coil, and dashboard will change to “1/2”

- Put the blank key in the device ring coil.

- LED starts to blink GREEN, wait until it is again constantly GREEN

- Give ignition ON with this key. If car is key-less-go, place the key near the vehicle coil

- Dashboard indication should change from “1/2” to “2/2”

- Now the car can be started
